BAHAMAS

Bahamas Carnival: Playing Mas for the First Time

Bahamas Carnival is one of the newest Carnivals in the Caribbean, and it has grown fast. Every June, Nassau mixes soca and mas with Junkanoo, the Bahamas' own sound of goatskin drums, cowbells and horns, so the road feels like nowhere else.

Expect J’Ouvert, boat rides, beach fetes and a road day that ends with the city still partying. It's an easy trip too: a short flight from much of the U.S. and some of the clearest turquoise water you'll ever see. Hotels fill up for Carnival weekend, so book your stay early.

The Bahamas guide covers the mas bands and J’Ouvert bands you can join, fetes, road day, and where to stay and eat. This guide is coming soon and will be $10 in the Shop.
