Sugar Mas is Saint Kitts at Christmas. Instead of the pre-Lenten or summer calendar, the festival stretches from mid-December into the New Year, with a Boxing Day J’Ouvert, traditional masquerade and Christmas Sports heritage, soca and calypso fetes, and the Grand Parade and Last Lap around New Year. It feels festive and close to home, with plenty of the island’s own people back for the holidays.

The holidays are the catch.
